Front doors in Tunbridge Wells

Replacing your front door

Your front door is the first thing people see and your main line of defence, so it has to look right and lock properly. Whether yours is draughty, hard to lock or just tired, we can replace it with a new door made to measure for your opening.

We’re Southern Window Systems, a family-run installer based in Hastings since 1993. Tunbridge Wells is about 30 miles from us, in Kent, and it’s one of the areas we cover. We start with a free home visit to measure up and show you the options, then give you a no-obligation quote. On the day, we remove the old door, fit the new one, tidy up and can take the old door away for recycling.

Composite front doors

We fit Solidor timber composite doors. Their solid timber core gives them the look of real timber without the upkeep. They won’t warp, twist, bow or crack with the seasons, and the finish won’t fade or need repainting: a wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking new.

That solid construction also makes them warm and good at keeping out street noise. Our composite doors are Secured by Design and PAS 24 tested, and come with high-security multi-point locking. More about our composite doors.

uPVC front doors

Liniar uPVC doors are a practical, low-maintenance choice for the front or back of the house. They’re internally reinforced, double rebated with weather seals, and have high-security Yale locks as standard, backed by a 10-year Yale guarantee. Low threshold options that comply with Part M of the Building Regulations make them easier for wheelchair users. More about uPVC doors.

Aluminium front doors

Aluminium is naturally strong, which allows slim, modern profiles. Aluminium front doors offer the widest colour choice of all, from bold shades to muted, traditional tones, and use modern double glazing for good thermal performance. They suit contemporary homes and extensions especially well. More about aluminium doors.

A door that matches your home

Tunbridge Wells has many Victorian and Edwardian houses as well as modern homes, and a front door should suit the house it’s on. Choose from traditional and contemporary panel designs, a range of colours and woodgrain finishes, decorative glass and door furniture. We can match the colour of your windows, add matching side panels, or fit a stable door for cottage character. If your home is listed or in a conservation area, check with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council before changing the front door.
