Who we are
Southern Window Systems (“we”) is a double glazing installer based at 1 Alexandra Parade, Park Avenue, Hastings TN34 2PG. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about it at sales@southernwindowsystems.com or on 01424 239023.
What we collect and why
When you call, email or visit us, we keep the details you give us, such as your name, phone number, email address, home address and information about your property and the work you’d like. We use them to:
- answer your enquiry, arrange a home visit and give you a quote (steps you ask us to take before a contract);
- carry out and guarantee the work if you go ahead (our contract with you);
- register installations as Building Regulations require, for example with FENSA (a legal obligation);
- keep business and accounting records (a legal obligation).
We don’t sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
Who we share it with
Only with organisations that need it to do the job or meet our obligations: for example FENSA or Certass to register your installation and its guarantee, product manufacturers for guarantee claims, and our accountants. They must keep it secure.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within two years. Customer records are kept for as long as the guarantees on your installation last, and for at least six years for tax purposes.
This website
The website itself doesn’t ask for personal information. Like most websites, our web server keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
Only if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how the site is used and whether our adverts lead to calls and emails (our legitimate interest in running the business efficiently, with your consent for the cookies). Google receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and device type. If you reject cookies, none of this is collected. See our cookie policy for details.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email sales@southernwindowsystems.com and we’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
