Period character, modern performance

Vertical sliding sash windows are the classic choice for period homes in Hastings and St Leonards. Our uPVC sliding sashes are crafted to mirror traditional styles, so your home keeps its character and still fits in with the rest of the street.

Behind the traditional looks, you get everything old timber frames lack: better energy efficiency, weatherproofing and noise reduction, with none of the painting and upkeep.

Smooth, safe and easy to clean

  • Spiral balances. Spring balance mechanisms counter the weight of the sash, so it slides up and down smoothly.
  • Tilt for cleaning. Pivot bars built into the sashes let them tilt inwards, for easy cleaning and extra ventilation.
  • Child safety. Restrictors can be fitted to stop the bottom sash opening fully.
  • Security. Yale locks are fitted as standard, with high-security cam locks available.

Warm and weather tight

Double glazing comes as standard. The sealed unit traps a layer of air between the panes, so your home holds its heat for longer and you don’t need the heating on as much. Our uPVC windows are A-rated, and the Liniar system can reach a Window Energy Rating of A+12.

Low-level PCE gaskets sit out of sight in the frame, protecting against draughts and the worst of the British weather. You’ll notice the difference in both the temperature and the noise from outside.

Made to look the part

Choose from a range of colours for the inside and outside of the frames, and a choice of glazing options. Decorative sash horns can be added to complete the period look.

Unlike painted timber, the uPVC frames won’t crack, warp or discolour for many years. A wipe with a damp cloth every so often keeps your sash windows looking new for years.

Fitted by a local family firm

We’ve been fitting windows and doors from our base in Hastings since 1993. You choose every detail of your new sash windows, and our own team fits them at a time that suits you. As FENSA registered installers, we register every replacement window so you get a certificate showing it meets Building Regulations.

Questions about sliding sash windows

Will uPVC sash windows look right on a period house?

Yes. Our uPVC sliding sash windows are made to mirror traditional sash styles, and you can add decorative sash horns, so your home keeps its character and doesn’t look out of place on the street.

How do I clean the outside of a sliding sash?

The sashes have built-in pivot bars, so they tilt inwards. You can clean the outside glass from inside your home.

Are sliding sash windows safe with children in the house?

Restrictors can be fitted to the frames to stop the bottom sash sliding fully open, which keeps little fingers and curious children safer.

Do uPVC sash windows need painting?

No. Unlike timber, uPVC never needs sanding, painting or varnishing. Just wipe the frames with a damp cloth every so often.

How much do vertical sliding sash windows cost?

Every home is different, so we price each job individually. Call 01424 239023 to arrange a free home visit and a no-obligation written quote.
