The best of both worlds

Sash horn windows look very much like traditional sliding sash windows, but they open like a normal casement window. You keep the period character of your home, without having to slide the window up and down to open it.

They’re a popular choice for older properties in Hastings and St Leonards, where you want new windows that still look right on the street. They work just as well on contemporary homes that call for a more traditional touch.

Authentic details

  • A true sash appearance. The windows are designed to keep the look of wooden box sash windows, so you can update your home without losing its character.
  • Integrated horns. The horns are part of a single piece of uPVC rather than screwed on, for a neater, more convincing finish.
  • Hand finished. Every sash horn window is finished by hand and carefully inspected, so quality isn’t left to chance.
  • Colours and finishes. A wide range of traditional colours and designs to suit your property.

Sealed against the weather

Special horn gaskets are built into the continuous sash seal, giving extra protection against wind and rain. Along with Liniar’s multi-chambered profile and high-performance gaskets, that keeps draughts out and warmth in.

Our uPVC windows are A-rated, and the Liniar system can reach a Window Energy Rating of A+12. Using less energy to heat your home is good for your bills and for your carbon footprint. The profile is also lead free and fully recyclable.

Yale security as standard

Every sash horn window is fitted with Yale shootbolt locking. As Yale approved installers, we can offer a 10-year Yale guarantee that protects the locks against mechanical failure.

We’re also FENSA registered, so your new windows are registered and you get a certificate showing they meet Building Regulations. Find out more about how our windows keep your home secure.

Questions about sash horn windows

What’s the difference between a sash horn window and a sliding sash?

A sash horn window looks like a traditional sliding sash, horns and all, but it opens outwards on hinges like a casement window instead of sliding up and down.

Are the horns screwed on?

No. The horns on our sash horn windows are formed as part of a single piece of uPVC, so they look like part of the window rather than an add-on.

Are sash horn windows secure?

Yes. They come with Yale shootbolt locking, and the Yale locks are guaranteed against mechanical failure for 10 years.

Will they suit a period house?

Yes. They’re designed to keep the look of wooden box sash windows, which makes them a good fit for older homes, as well as working on more modern ones.
