A small addition that makes a real difference
A porch is one of the simplest ways to add space to the front of your home. It gives you a place to take off muddy boots, hang coats and leave the pushchair, so the mess stays out of the hallway.
It also changes how your home looks from the street. A well-designed porch can tidy up a plain front elevation and give the house a more welcoming entrance.
Warmer and less draughty
Without a porch, every time the front door opens, cold air blows straight into the hallway. A porch adds a buffer between your front door and the outside, so the hallway stays warmer and draughts stay out.
It also shelters your front door from wind and rain, and gives callers and deliveries somewhere dry to wait or leave a parcel.
A secure new front entrance
The porch door becomes your new front door, so security matters. You can choose a uPVC door or a Solidor timber composite door. Our doors are Secured by Design and PAS 24 tested.
We’re Yale approved installers, so Yale locks come as standard, backed by a 10-year Yale guarantee. Find out more on our window and door security page.
Designed to suit your home
Every porch we fit is made to measure. We’ll help you choose a design and finish that suits the house, whether that’s crisp white uPVC or a woodgrain effect like the golden oak porch in the photo. You can match the porch to your windows, or replace both at the same time for a consistent look.
Our uPVC is low maintenance: it won’t rot or need painting, and a wipe down now and then keeps it looking good.
Do you need planning permission?
Many porches don’t need planning permission, but the size and position of the porch matter, especially at the front of the house. We’ll advise you at your free home visit, or you can check with your local council. We’re happy to help with any planning and building work questions along the way.
How it works
First, we visit your home, look at the front of the house and talk through how you want to use the porch. We measure up, check the ground and the doorway, and answer any questions about planning.
Then we give you a written, no-obligation quote, with no pressure to decide. If you go ahead, the porch and door are made to measure and our own team fits them, leaving your home tidy.
